Short Biography

Albert Denk studied Social Sciences and Global Studies in Barcelona, Berlin, Buenos Aires, New Delhi, and Munich. He received his Ph.D. in Sociology from Ludwig Maximilian University of Munich with a dissertation on “Sustainable Development and Global Inequality.” He served as a research assistant at the Otto Suhr Institute for Political Science at Freie Universität Berlin and at the Centre for International Student Assessment (ZIB) at the Technical University of Munich. He has also taught at Freie Universität Berlin, Ludwig Maximilian University of Munich, the Technical University of Munich, and the University of Stuttgart. He has been a visiting researcher at New York University, Venice International University, and KU Leuven.

His first monograph, Sustainable Development and Global Inequality, published by Nomos (2023), was followed by Global Democracy, published by oekom (2025). In December 2026, Wochenschau Verlag will publish From “Eco-Dictatorship” to “Climate Change Lie”, co-authored with Sabine Achour and Luisa Girnus.

In addition, he has published over 50 articles, research reports, and reviews; delivered approximately 60 public lectures; and frequently shared his research findings in leading media outlets (SZ, Spiegel, ARD-Faktenfinder, ZDF-Faktencheck, Stern, WDR, etc.). He serves as a reviewer for several academic journals (including Leviathan, GAIA, Global Governance, and Frontiers) and is active in professional associations. He gained practical experience as a lecturer for sustainable development, as a group leader in Israel, in a solar project in Vietnam, as a workshop facilitator on the topics of displacement, migration, and anti-racism, in housing placement for refugees, and as a tour guide for postcolonial tours.
